
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 28 - Campaigning for the June 7 parliamentary elections began today in Kosovo, marking the country's third electoral cycle in a year and a half, following the political crisis caused by the Assembly's failure to elect a new president. The campaign will last ten days, until the polls open at 7:00 a.m. According to data released by the Central Election Commission (CEC), 21 political parties have registered 902 candidates for the 120 seats in the Kosovo Assembly. Vetëvendosje, led by outgoing Prime Minister Albin Kurti, launched its campaign this evening with the slogan "A state for all, all for the state." The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), led by Bedri Hamza, has launched the slogan "Stop the Crisis," while the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) is now led by former president of the republic Vjosa Osmani, a "candidate for the presidency."
