(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 22 - The secretariats of CGIL, CISL, and UIL Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Italian members of the Friuli Venezia Giulia-Slovenia Interregional Trade Union Council, have expressed "full solidarity" with Slovenian unions and "full support" for their initiatives to counter the new Jansa government's "unacceptable attack" on workers' and pensioners' conditions in a letter addressed to the leaders of the Slovenian unions ZSSS and KS90. The initiative by CGIL, CISL, and UIL follows a petition launched by Slovenian unions against the new Jansa government's programme, which includes healthcare cuts and a strong neoliberal stance. It also condemns a proposed law that, among other things, would eliminate the automatic deduction of union delegations from wages, according to a statement from the Friuli Venezia Giulia unions. Cross-border workers would also pay the price, according to the CGIL, CISL, and UIL, as they risk being denied "a dialogue necessary to overcome the many inequalities in treatment that still exist."
