Slovenia extends border controls until December 21

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 21 - Slovenia's government decided today to extend border checks with Croatia and Hungary for another six months, citing unstable security conditions in the neighbourhood and beyond, according to Slovenian news agency STA. Temporary checkpoints on Slovenia's southern and eastern borders have been in place since October 2023 and will remain so until at least December 21. Slovenia first implemented border checks with Croatia and Hungary in 2023, in response to Italy's decision to impose border controls with Slovenia. (ANSA).
