Slovenia, centre-right parties sign coalition agreement

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 21 - The Democratic Party (SDS), Democrats, and the alliance of New Slovenia (NSi), People's Party (SLS), and Focus have signed a coalition agreement to form Slovenia's next centre-right government, the Slovenian news agency STA reported today. The coalition agreement was signed behind closed doors on Thursday, just one day before SDS leader Janez Janša is expected to be appointed prime minister by the National Assembly. Janša has the support of Truth, a sovereignist party that emerged from an anti-vaxx movement during the Covid pandemic, in addition to a new coalition with 43 seats in the 90-seat National Assembly. Truth, which has five MPs, will formally support a minority government as an opposition party. (ANSA).
