(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 16 - "The Chisinau Declaration, adopted today by the Council of Europe's 46 member states, recognises the legitimacy of nations to implement innovative solutions for managing migration flows, such as repatriation hubs in third countries, based on the model pioneered by Italy in Albania." Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni announced on social media that "this is an important achievement, the fruit of a process that Italy helped pioneer with courage and determination, together with Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen." "What was controversial just a year ago," Meloni continued, "has now become a principle shared by the 46 member states of the Council of Europe and demonstrates, once again, that the Italian approach to the orderly management of migration flows, pursued with seriousness and consistency by our government, has now become Europe's approach."
