Latvia is nearing the formation of a new parliamentary majority

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 15 - Representatives from the Green and Farmers Union, a member of the current governing majority, the National Alliance, and the United List reached an initial agreement today on the possibility of forming a new governing coalition following the resignation of Latvia's current Prime Minister, Evika Silina. To secure a majority in Parliament, the new coalition would need to win the support of at least ten other MPs. According to unconfirmed rumours, the three coalitions have agreed to nominate Maris Kucinskis, a member of the United List and former Prime Minister from 2016 to 2019, for the presidency of the Council of Ministers.
