Dal Mas (CEI) emphasises the importance of science diplomacy in today's world

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 14 - "Science diplomacy is a valuable tool for furthering the CEI's mission. In today's global context, marked by high uncertainty, no country can face the challenges of our time alone. Connectivity extends beyond physical infrastructure like railways and roads; social, cultural, and scientific ties are equally important." This was stated by CEI Secretary General Franco Dal Mas during the international meeting 'When Science Meets Diplomacy - Exploring Opportunities for Serbia within European and International Science Diplomacy Networks', which took place at the Italian Embassy in Belgrade. The CEI and the Italian Embassy in Serbia collaborated to organise the event, which received support from the European Union Science Diplomacy Alliance. In his speech, Dal Mas also mentioned CEI's science diplomacy initiatives, such as the international training programme 'Challenges and Perspectives of Science Diplomacy', which will return to Trieste in November 2026.
