Vucic will not attend celebration for Montenegro's 20th anniversary of independence

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 14 - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić declined to attend a "pompous celebration" commemorating Montenegro's 20th anniversary of secession from Serbia on May 21. "I received an invitation to participate in the pompous celebration of secession from Serbia," he said, according to Tanjug news agency. "Of course, I will not go. I love Serbia more than anything else in the world, and celebrating such an event would be a disgrace and an insult to me and my people. Allow them to celebrate however they want." "I just want the citizens of Serbia to know one thing: they are celebrating their secession from us, Serbia, with great fanfare. I do not have anything else to add. I would have had a lot to say about our leadership's incompetence at the time, but they chose that option. I see they are ecstatic to have left the Serbs and Serbia. "I wish them success and happiness," Vučić added. (ANSA).
