(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAY 4 - In response to statements made by EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, a European Commission spokesperson stated that "no decision has been made regarding the freezing of funds" directed to Serbia or similar measures. "The Commission," the spokesperson explained, "is constantly assessing whether the necessary conditions for receiving support under EU financial instruments are met. This is standard procedure for implementing these instruments and applies throughout the process, including the growth plan at the stage of each payment request. We have already expressed our concerns about the recent adoption of judicial legislation in Serbia, and we now expect Serbia to fully implement the Venice Commission's urgent opinion on this legislation. We are closely following the next steps." (ANSA).
