Italy, Germany concerned about Flotilla, respect of international law

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 30 - "Italy and Germany are closely monitoring the situation surrounding the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was seized last night in international waters off the coast of Greece. We call for full respect for applicable international law and the avoidance of irresponsible actions," reads a joint statement from the Foreign Ministries of Rome and Berlin. "Our absolute and shared priority is to ensure the safety of our citizens in accordance with international humanitarian law. They conclude, "We remember our common commitment and the international community's efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza in compliance with international law and standards. (ANSA).
