
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 29 - Italo is ready to invest €3.6 billion in Germany, with plans to launch the first trains in mid-2028. Italo CEO Gianbattista La Rocca confirmed this to Il Sole 24 Ore. "Germany marks the first step in the company's internationalisation. We established the German company a year ago, have a railway licence, and are in the process of obtaining a safety certificate. Above all, we have already finalised and agreed on a contract for the purchase and maintenance of trains with the German manufacturer Siemens." (ANSA).
