GECT GO Assembly approves 2025 budget

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 23 - The Assembly of the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (GECT GO), made up of representatives from Gorizia, Nova Gorica, and Šempeter-Vrtojba, approved the 2025 final budget, revised Standing Committees, and operational and programmatic guidelines for the period after the European Capital of Culture. Highlights include the balanced budget for the GO!, with the year 2025 seeing nearly 8 million euros redistributed throughout the local area. "The data show that, in 2025, every euro allocated to the operation of the GECT GO generated a return of more than 18 euros to the local area, confirming the structure's efficiency," Director Romina Kocina stated. One of the most significant outcomes was the completion of the redevelopment of Piazza Transalpina/Trg Evrope, which was carried out by the GECT GO as contracting authority and coordinator. The Assembly also approved the Standing Committees' reorganisation into broader areas: transport and sustainable mobility; energy, urban planning, and the environment; health, sport, and well-being; education, training, universities, and culture; and economy and tourism.
