(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 22 - "With Poland, we are two important European countries. We share common views on major international political issues, beginning with Ukraine's defence and freedom," Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated at the Italy-Poland Strategic Forum with his counterpart Radoslav Sikorski. "We want peace, but respect for the law is essential," Tajani said in relation to Ukraine. "We share the same positions on peace in the Middle East, as well as on strengthening European defence: we both believe in and implement the SAFE project. We are two industrialised countries, and as was evident at the last European Council, we share the same views on industrial policy, the Green Deal, and the major issue of the ETS, so I believe we can continue to work very well together to build peace and strengthen Europe's role. We need strong European involvement right now to engage with Israel, the US, Iran, and the Gulf countries, because freedom of navigation in Hormuz is critical for our industrialised countries," the Deputy Prime Minister stated, adding that "we also share the same position on the Western Balkans." "We are prepared to assist Albania, Montenegro, and other countries in joining the European Union. Naturally, we support Ukraine and Moldova," he concluded. (ANSA).
