Diesel and gasoline prices up 19.1% and 10.6% in March 2026: Eurostat

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 21 - According to the most recent Eurostat fuel price publications, diesel and petrol prices rose 19.1% and 10.6%, respectively, in March this year compared to February 2026. Diesel saw the greatest increase among the two fuels, with peak increases in the Czech Republic and Sweden (+27.6%), Estonia (+26.8%), Latvia (+25.4%), Belgium (+25.2%), and the Netherlands (+25.1%). Slovenia (+2.9%), Slovakia, and Hungary (+7%) showed the smallest increases among the 27 EU countries. Italy had one of the lowest petrol price increases in March 2026 compared to the previous month, at +4.8%. Only Slovenia (+2.4%), Slovakia (+3.8%), and Hungary (+4.7%) outperformed Italy. Finally, the highest petrol price increases were recorded in Belgium (+15.1%), Sweden (+15%), and Austria (+14.8%). (ANSA).
