(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 17 - Slovakia will file an appeal with the EU Court of Justice against the regulation banning Russian gas and oil imports by November 1, 2027. Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico announced the decision, calling it "extremely damaging" to the entire Union. "We're concerned about how this regulation was adopted. We are convinced, and I believe other prime ministers agree, that this is a sanctions regime, a sanctioning measure. As a result, this decision should have been adopted unanimously," Fico stated. According to the Prime Minister, the European Commission was aware that some countries were opposed to this regulation, and thus the unanimity requirement was bypassed. (ANSA).
