'From Border to Bridge': Gorizia and the 2025 European Capitals of Culture in Skopje

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 15 - An institutional delegation comprised of representatives of the 2025 European Capitals of Culture, including the Mayor of Gorizia, Rodolfo Ziberna, the Mayor of Nova Gorica, Slovenia, Samo Turel, and the Director of ECoC projects in Chemnitz, Germany, Josephine Hage, participated in a day of institutional meetings and activities in the North Macedonian capital, Skopje. The goal was to share the results achieved as well as provide expertise and experience to help Skopje become the European Capital of Culture in 2028. The visit is part of a larger framework of collaboration and exchange that aims to share best practices, organisational models, and visions. Strategies evolved along the way, leading Gorizia and Nova Gorica to jointly obtain the title for 2025, the first instance of a cross-border European Capital of Culture. (ANSA).
