Southeast Europe Observatory's "Liberal Dialogues" debuts in Belgrade

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, APR 14 - Following Trieste and Ljubljana, the "Liberal Dialogues" initiative, promoted by the Southeast Europe Observatory (SEE), a project promoting liberal economics established by the Luigi Einaudi Foundation and the MIB Trieste School of Management, arrived in Belgrade today. An event titled "Leadership, Rights, and Media" was held in Serbia's capital. The initiative in Belgrade laid the groundwork for mixed working groups, including Serbian students, faculty, and European liberal thought experts, to establish a network of young liberals in Southeast Europe. Sofia Ventura, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Bologna, Fabio Padovano, Full Professor of Public Finance at Roma Tre University and the University of Rennes 1, and Marko Novakovic, who spoke about media freedom, delivered the lectures. Miodrag Jovanovic, a law professor, a Serbian writer, and a musician were also among the guests. Regarding the Serbian demonstrations, Jovanovic stated that "students are protesting because they want liberal values to be visible and truly applied in our society. They believe that Serbia is still far from fully implementing the principles enshrined in its constitution." The next events are scheduled in Podgorica (May 5) and Tirana (May 19). (ANSA).
