(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAR 23 - "The wiretapping of a government member's conversations is a serious attack on Hungary. As a result, I have ordered the Minister of Justice to immediately launch a thorough investigation into the revelations regarding the wiretapping of Péter Szijjártó," said Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Facebook. Orbans' announcement follows a report in The Washington Post yesterday alleging that Foreign Minister Szijjártó frequently calls Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during breaks in European Council meetings to provide him with live updates on the discussion. On the same subject, Hungarian democratic opposition leader Péter Magyar stated: "What Minister Szijjártó has done is nothing short of pure treason against the homeland, and the consequences will be felt after the April 12 elections."
