No to Trojan horses in the EU, new members must be strong democracies: Kos

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAR 10 - "No Trojan horse, no member who undermines us from within, can become an EU member state. We must be completely certain of this. Countries that join the EU must be strong democracies capable of resisting the toxic influence of Russia and other countries. There can be no shortcuts to reform." This was stated by EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos during the plenary session in Strasbourg. Kos emphasised the importance of continuing the integration process through reforms. "This increases credibility," Kos stated, adding that "the EU must also deliver on its commitments." "I share your assessment," she said, addressing the audience. (ANSA).
