(ANSA) - TRIESTE, 20 GEN - Barcolana presented an award to the owner and crew of the first German boat to reach the finish line of the 2025 Autumn Cup during Boot Düsseldorf, the boating trade fair in which Barcolana takes part together with Friuli Venezia Giulia Turismo and the FVG Marinas Network. The 2025 ADAC Trophy was won by Calabash (Elbe Regatta Club), skippered by Michael Schmidt. "Barcolana," said Dean Bassi, vice president of the Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano, "takes part every year in boot Düsseldorf together with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region with a dual goal: to support the promotion of the territory and to tell the story of the event in its most authentic dimension. The new development of the partnership with ADAC, which includes awarding the best German crews, represents an interesting opportunity to understand better how the regatta is experienced by those who come from afar." During the ceremony, the 2025 ADAC Fair Play Award was also presented to Oliver Giebler, skipper of Fidelity (Ultrasail UG) and winner of the 2024 ADAC Trophy. Giebler's leadership and sportsmanship during the Autumn Cup, especially his enthusiastic and responsible approach with his crew and onboard dog, exemplify the true spirit of sailing and inspire admiration among supporters and participants alike. The jury chose to reward his ability to combine sporting performance, leadership, and the pleasure of sailing, highlighting team spirit and respect for the values of sailing. Among the German boats in the race, Fidelity finished eighth overall at Barcolana57 presented by Generali. (ANSA).
