Julian Alps cooperation group kicks off between Friuli and Slovenia

(ANSA) - TRIESTE, JAN 3 - A letter of intent for the creation of the European Group for Territorial Cooperation of the Julian Alps will be signed on 17 January in Kobarid and will involve 25 Italian and 5 Slovenian municipalities in the border area. The Natisone and Torre Mountain Community announced. According to a statement, the project path has the support of of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Slovenian government and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region. The signing will take place during the Novoletno Srečanje, the traditional New Year's meeting between administrators of Slovenian municipalities in the Upper Isonzo Valley and Italian municipalities in the Friulian Slavia. Slovenian Deputy Prime Minister Matej Arčon is expected to attend. (ANSA).
