Germany aims to join the UN Security Council

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JAN 2 - "The Security Council must reflect the world of the twenty-first century, not that of the immediate postwar period following 1945. For this reason, we will work tirelessly to ensure that the Global South, in particular, has a much more prominent role in the Council," German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul told the dpa news agency. Germany intends to run for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council in 2027/2028. (ANSA).
