EU says wants 'swift' formation of new Kosovo government after weekend election

(ANSA-AFP) - BRUSSELS, 29 DIC - The European Union said Monday it wants Kosovo to quickly form a new government after results from a weekend election suggested caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti's party got enough votes to potentially end the country's political deadlock. "After the political stalemate following the February 2025 elections, we look forward to the swift formation of the new Assembly and Government and to continuing our engagement with the authorities," EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said in a statement. She added that "the new government should redouble its efforts on much needed EU-related reforms". (ANSA-AFP).
