(ANSA) - ROMA, DEC 24 - The Interforce Summit Operations Commander (Covi), Army Corps General Giovanni Maria Iannucci, visited the Italian contingent, deployed as part of the NATO Multinational Battle Group Hungary. Welcomed by the Italian Military Attaché at the Embassy of Italy in Hungary, Colonel Filippo Di Stefano, and the Commander of the Italian National Support Element, Lieutenant Colonel Federico Vaia, General Iannucci initially participated in an update briefing on the contingent's operational situation, receiving an overview of the activities carried out and the national contribution to the multinational device. During the visit, the Covi Commander also toured the main infrastructure at Camp Croft, focusing on the logistical, medical and training assets, key elements supporting operational readiness and the livelihood of deployed personnel. The visit concluded with a meeting with the Italian contingent, during which General Iannucci expressed his appreciation for the commitment, professionalism and sense of duty demonstrated. "Your daily work contributes in a concrete way to the credibility of Defense and the country. Part of our international reliability comes from your determination and ability to operate effectively in a complex context." Finally, the Covi Commander addressed a message of good wishes in view of the upcoming holiday season, renewing Defense's closeness to the men and women deployed on the eastern flank of the Atlantic Alliance, with a special thought for their families.
