(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DEC 16 - Montenegro continues to make progress towards EU membership. At the twenty-fourth meeting of the Accession Conference with Montenegro in Brussels, negotiations were provisionally closed on five negotiating chapters: chapter 3 on the right of establishment and the freedom to provide services; chapter 4 on the free movement of capital; chapter 6 on company law; chapter 11 on agriculture and rural development; and chapter 13 on fisheries. Montenegro has closed twelve of its 35 chapters. The goal is to finish the technical work by the end of next year. "Montenegro has never been closer to the European Union than it is today, but let us be honest. The most difficult part is yet to come, as you promised to complete the negotiations by the end of 2026, and the European Commission supports you," said EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos toi Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, urging Podgorica to move quickly in order to achieve their goals.
