As part of the MEDOCE project "Establishing Methodology for the Development of CE Application for Directive on Machinery", on 24 November, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) hosted a training for producers of machinery who have to meet the technical requirements regarding CE marking or the Serbian harmonisation marking for their products.
Around 30 machine manufacturers throughout Serbia, certification companies and regional chambers of commerce participated in the event to share their experience in selling their products on local and foreign markets, as well as to receive information on machinery safety requirements, i.e. legal framework, conformity assessment procedures, declaration of conformity, technical file, marking of machinery, new Rulebook on Machinery in Serbian technical regulation (Official Journal 58/16).
The gathering was a great chance to put into practice the knowledge the Serbian recipient has received from the know-how provider, the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO).
Dušan Stokić, project manager and Head of the Environment Protection Center, described how the team for CE marking developed the methodology and elaborated an online platform application which should firstly assist small and medium-sized enterprises in identifying technical regulations and harmonised standards related to their product; secondly, assist in establishing what kind of documentation and information is needed after the required process of harmonisation could place CE marking or Serbian harmonisation marking on their products to be sold both on local or foreign markets.
This tool is complemented by a „Knowledge data base“ where users have access to practical CE marking information, e.g. texts of directives and rulebooks, list of standards, phases of harmonisation and useful addresses and guidelines.
