CEI Cooperation Fund: 57 projects co-financed in 13 countries with 506.560,50 EUR in 2013. Call now open for 2014

The CEI Cooperation Fund, financed by all Member States, supports small-scale projects mainly taking the form of seminars, workshops, short training courses or other kinds of events. In 2013 the CEI co-funded 57 projects with an overall approved funding amounting to 506.560,50 EUR and an average funding per project of around 8000 EUR. 

The co-financed activities of organisations of various kinds and sizes were implemented in the following CEI member countries: Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, Serbia, Slovenia, Romania and Ukraine. NGOs, youth organisations, scientific institutes, research centres, universities, high schools, writers’ associations, film festivals, theatres, development agencies, chambers of commerce, media organisations and associations for women entrepreneurship are amongst the organisations receiving CEI support. According to the rules of the fund, the CEI financial contribution can reach a maximum of 50% of the total cost of a project. 

In the field of Science and technology the CEI supported 11 projects taking place in Belarus, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine. In the field of Climate, environment and sustainable energy 13 projects were co-financed in Austria, Belarus, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Serbia. In the sector of Intercultural cooperation including minorities the CEI Cooperation Fund supported 12 projects in Italy, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia, and Ukraine. In the field of Human resource development 11 projects were developed in Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Macedonia, Moldova, and Serbia. In the field of Information society and Media, two projects were supported in Italy and Slovenia, and one project was of regional grasp. Three projects were approved in the field of Enterprise development including tourism, submitted by organisations in Austria, Macedonia, and Slovenia.

All public and private bodies in CEI Member States, as well as international organisations and other regional bodies are eligible to apply for CEI Funding through the Cooperation Fund as long as their activities are in line with the priorities outlined in the CEI Plan of Action 2014-16.

The 2014 Call for Proposals will be open until 27 May 2014.
