Workshop on Connecting the Adriatic-Ionian Region through Advanced Technology and Training for the Energy Transition in the Port Sector

The workshop from 14:00 to 17:30 at the Presidency of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region in Trieste is jointly organised by the CEI and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, in line with the EUSAIR TSG2 activities for 2024. It contributes to the flagship project “Adriatic-Ionian Green/Smart Port Hubs Concepts”.

Primary objectives of the workshop:

• Develop complementarities in energy and environmental strategies across ports in the Upper Adriatic (with participation from NAPA ports' representatives).

• Facilitate discussions on the transition to greener operations through the exchange of best practices and shared experiences.

• Create synergies between port authorities, stakeholders, and universities to foster collaborative approaches.

• Explore the impacts of innovative technologies and new regulations on port strategies and operations.

• Identify future demands for skilled human resources in ports and related industries, promoting innovative training and development initiatives.
