This workshop is part of the KEP Project “TRUE BLUE – CEI Support to Training and Research to Unlock and Enhance the Potential of the Sustainable Blue Economy for Regional Cooperation and EU Integration.” Co-financed by Italy through the CEI Know-how Exchange Programme under the CEI Fund at the EBRD. the project is led by the Italian National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics (OGS), in cooperation with the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI, Slovenia) and the Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries (IZOR, Croatia).
The initiative aims to support progress towards EU integration and to promote regional cooperation among the three beneficiary countries - Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Albania - through capacity-building activities.
In particular, this workshop is designed as a platform to strengthen cooperation and innovation in the sustainable blue economy across the Western Balkans, focusing on key topics such as:
- EU funding opportunities to support innovation in the Sustainable Blue Economy (SBE) across the Western Balkans.
- Best practices and lessons learned from Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia in innovation and SBE projects.
- The Macro-Regional Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) on Blue Growth for the ADRION Region, with initiatives such as Blueair, Innovamare, and Innovablue.
