Green and Smart Ports: Shaping the Future of Green Transition and Skills Development in the Adriatic-Ionian Region

As a follow up-of the previous Workshop held in Trieste on 28 November 2024 contributing to the “Adriatic-Ionian green/smart port hub concepts” Flagship projects, and in the framework of the EUSAIR Pillar II Work Plan, the Central European Initiative (CEI) in collaboration with the Autonomous Region Friuli Venezia Giulia will organize the Workshop entitled "Green and Smart Ports: Shaping the Future of Green Transition and Skills Development in the Adriatic-Ionian Region", which will be held on 16 October 2025 in Trieste, at the premises of the Presidency of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Piazza Unità d’Italia 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The workshop will explore the challenges and opportunities related to the decarbonization of EUSAIR ports. It will focus on aligning transport and environmental strategies, promoting green and smart port initiatives, and enhancing skills development to meet new regulatory and technological demands. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and cross-pillar dialogues, the event will bring together key stakeholders, policymakers, and experts to discuss investment needs, workforce upskilling, and best practices across the Adriatic-Ionian region.
