The 2024 Western Balkans Inter-country/area meeting aims to enhance regional collaboration on the comprehensive and integrated management of complex chronic conditions through a Primary Health Care (PHC) approach. This workshop will focus on addressing the high prevalence of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) by presenting current trends, sharing regional experiences, and discussing service delivery challenges. The event is a testament to the strong partnership between the World Health Organization (WHO) and the CEI, who have joined forces to advance health priorities in the Western Balkans. Their collaboration, exemplified by their joint response to the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing efforts under the WHO Roadmap for Health and Well-being, brings together technical expertise and fosters intercountry cooperation. Through this meeting, WHO and CEI aim to support Western Balkan countries in defining effective strategies, identifying actionable recommendations, and implementing reforms to strengthen PHC systems and tackle NCDs effectively.
