Visegrad for European Serbia

KEP Project

The project main objective is to improve Serbian local governments and citizens' knowledge and understanding of specific aspects of European integration processes and challenges posed by EU membership. This was achieved through sharing of experience and know-how between the V4 and Serbia. The project brought local leaders to contribute to the positive transformation of Serbia and bring the country closer to the European Union through establishing a dialogue platform between them and other stakeholders (NGOs, media, universities, national government). Activities of the project implemented:

1)     Organizing 6 round tables in Serbia on specific issues concerning the social and economic development, with a strong emphasis on the way these issues could be addressed by EU policies and funds in the respective area. Topics included: rural development, agricultural policies, more even regional development and social cohesion policy, etc. Experts from the V4 countries, who were involved in the EU integration process in their respective countries, acted as the main speakers in the roundtables.

2)    Organizing 1 conference in Bratislava for the representatives of V4 and Serbian NGOs and donors who are involved in work on/in the Balkans. Participants were invited to share their experience, exchange information and good practices in order to work more sufficient in the region.
