The ALSO Project aims to facilitate exchange of know-how between regional development planners, INTERREG programme managers and INTERREG project developers. It fosters INTERREG project development so to encourage a wider and more qualified participation in future European Territorial Cooperation Objectives. The findings will be made available to the European Commission, the INTERACT Secretariat, the INTERACT Points and INTERREG community in view of improving the effectiveness of INTERREG III Initiative. The ALSO Project analyses a definite number of INTERREG projects and test on them an Assessment Model in order to evaluate projects’ impacts and results in relation to the Lisbon Strategy Objectives. In addition, the Project envisages the elaboration of a Good Practice Manual and a Checklist for orienting new project ideas ready to be translated into project proposal for the programming period 2007-2013. The CEI has the task to promote project activities (awareness raising, project partnership, dissemination of findings and outputs) and to involve in the Project Regions and regional authorities from Central and Eastern Europe.
