Slovenia: S&P upgraded rating to AA- with stable outlook

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUNE 19 - The rating agency Standard & Poor's (S&P) upgraded the sovereign credit rating for Slovenia to AA- with a stable outlook from an A+ with positive outlook. S&P said that the decision was taken considering the agency's expectations that "Slovenia will continue to achieve solid economic and fiscal results, while also running substantial net external surpluses with the rest of the world." Moreover, the "government debt to GDP will remain on a downward path," S&P added. S&P expects that the economy in Slovenia will expand by 3.4% in real terms in 2019, with domestic demand a key-driver of growth in the coming years, the Slovenian news agency STA said. (ANSA).
