(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 22 OTT - Pordenonelegge's recent international visit to Prague resulted in the establishment of a strategic axis connecting culture, institutions, and the economy in the heart of Central Europe: strengthening ties with the Czech Republic. This initiative is also consistent with Pordenone's designation as the Italian Capital of Culture for 2027. A significant new structural development for Pordenonelegge is the introduction of a permanent programme: beginning with the 2027 edition, the festival will feature a major European capital each year, with Prague serving as the first guest city. This was announced by Michelangelo Agrusti, president of the Fondazione Pordenonelegge.it, who also revealed that Václav Havel will be named "Ambassador of Freedom 2027" posthumously, in recognition of his extraordinary life, which demonstrated that culture is a civic heritage and a fundamental safeguard of freedom. The Italian Cultural Institute in Prague hosted a cultural event yesterday that included the presentation of Giulio Mozzi's novel'La ripetizione' (published for the Czech market as 'Opakování' by Meridione). This event was a watershed moment in the evolution of cultural and institutional ties with Prague. Attendees included Alessandro Gaudiano, the Italian Ambassador to the Czech Republic; Mario Anzil, the Vice-Governor of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region; and Gian Mario Villalta, the artistic director of Pordenonelegge.
