(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 21 OTT - According to German Federal Chancellor candidate Friedrich Merz, Russia poses the most serious threat to Germany. "My biggest concern right now is not our economy, nor the US or China, but Russia's influence on our society," Merz said in Berlin, according to *Die Zeit*. He specifically mentioned acts of sabotage, hybrid attacks on communication systems, and attempts to destabilise Germany. "These attacks happen every day," warned the CDU leader, adding that their scope is still underestimated in Germany. "These are serious attacks," Merz said, citing an attempted drone attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport in early August. (ANSA).
