Moldova's growth plan implementation is good, but reforms must continue: Dombrovskis

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, 01 OTT - "The EU's €1.9 billion plan provides critical financial and technical support; it promotes further economic integration with the Union by supporting the reform agenda, given that EU funds are contingent on the implementation of measures aimed at making the economy more dynamic. These reforms include, among other things, reducing administrative burdens on businesses, digitizing public services, strengthening the fight against corruption, and enhancing anti-fraud systems. Implementation of the plan is moving quickly, with over €500 million in funding already available." This was stated by EU Commissioner for Economy Valdis Dombrovskis at the second annual international conference organised by the Banque de France, the National Bank of Moldova, and the National Bank of Romania on the topic of "Policy coordination for convergence in the EU," which was held in Chisinau. "However, having now passed the halfway mark, it is necessary to intensify efforts and ensure the continuity of reforms. This includes important measures to strengthen economic governance, particularly through strict rule enforcement, as well as decisive steps in the financial sector, such as further development of the stock exchange and post-trading infrastructure, all while strengthening investor protection," he stated.
