DPA and other German media outlets reported the news. According to data from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), 900,000 vehicles from Volkswagen and its German subsidiaries may be affected. The defect could affect up to 2.16 million vehicles worldwide. According to the agency, the solution is to replace the steering connection with a more corrosion-resistant screw. (ANSA).
