Friuli Venezia Giulia Region sees partnership with Kosovo as opportunity for business

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 18 - "I hope that Italian and Kosovar companies will seize the many opportunities for trade and internationalisation that this partnership can offer," said Sergio Emidio Bini, Regional Councillor for Productive Activities, today in Trieste at the "Doing Business in Kosovo" meeting, which was attended by the Republic of Kosovo's Minister of Industry, Mimoza Kusari Lila. Bini observed that international crises necessitate the formation of new economic relationships based on the regionalisation of supply chains and the reconciliation of production partners: "The Western Balkans, and Kosovo in particular, represent one of the most concrete responses that the Northeast production system can provide. By 2025, Friuli Venezia Giulia's exports to Kosovo had reached 9.28 million euros. The councillor emphasised the favourable conditions that make Kosovo an ideal location for Italy's new economic initiatives, including low taxes and a steadily rising GDP. At the same time, the advantages of Friuli Venezia Giulia's favourable tax regime were emphasised. "Kosovo today requires technology, manufacturing expertise, and dependable partners to establish supply chains in the ICT, renewable energy, infrastructure, and light manufacturing sectors," Bini said. "FVG possesses precisely these capabilities. And Kosovo can help our companies shorten production chains." (ANSA).
