Nei Suoni dei Luoghi Festival offers 39 events across Fvg, Slovenia, Austria

(ANSA) - UDINE, 17 GIU - A total of 39 events, including concerts, talks, cultural walks, and guided tours, will make up the program of the 28th edition of the international Nei Suoni dei Luoghi Festival, scheduled to take place from July through December 2026 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Slovenia, and Austria. The program, presented in Udine today, will involve more than 150 musicians, including established performers and young talents from European conservatories and music academies. The festival will open on July 1 at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Udine with "Armonie Inclusive," featuring the Ami-Ritmea Inclusive Symphony Orchestra and the Naonis Orchestra, conducted by Valter Sivilotti, the new artistic consultant working alongside Artistic Director Valentina Danelon. Among the new initiatives presented by the festival, which is organized by the Progetto Musica Association, is Atlante Sonoro, a series of seven concerts devoted to musical traditions from around the world. The cross-border Keep Going project will also continue, with eight events in Italy and Slovenia, including programs dedicated to Fausto Romitelli, "I Suoni della Pace" and the "Insieme/Skupaj" series. The program will also feature the return of "The Silent Storm 2," conceived by Alessandro Baricco, on November 28 at the Cavallerizza in Udine. "The festival brings together artistic quality, young talent, the promotion of cultural heritage, and dialogue between cultures," said Friuli Venezia Giulia Deputy Governor Mario Anzil. According to Artistic Director Danelon, the program creates "a multi-voiced dialogue among classical music, jazz, folk, pop, contemporary music, and world music." Other events include "In piena facoltà e in pieno Ferragosto," featuring writer Paolo Nori and cellist Enrico Bronzi, on July 15 in Pozzuolo del Friuli; "Liquid Room XIII/Blood on the Floor," an immersive experience by the Belgian ensemble Ictus, featuring the debut of the Index ensemble, on July 17 at the EpiCenter in Nova Gorica; and a concert by violinist Massimo Quarta and pianist Alessandro Marangoni on December 4 at the Teatro Odeon in Latisana.
