Osmani asks Parliament to elect Kosovo's president through popular vote

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, MAR 5 - Kosovo's President, Vjosa Osmani, announced that she has asked Parliament to amend the constitution to allow for direct presidential election by popular vote. "Considering the repeated failures in the election of the president, I have just presented to the Assembly constitutional amendments for the direct election of the president, drafted by the Commission for Amendments to the Constitution in 2011," Osmani stated. She encouraged all political parties to vote in favour of these constitutional amendments. "From now on, let the people speak," Osmani posted on Facebook. (ANSA).
