Two people arrested in Serbia for allegedly plotting to kill Vucic and overthrow state

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 24 - Two men were arrested overnight in Kraljevo, southern Serbia, for allegedly plotting to overthrow the Serbian constitutional order and assassinate President Aleksandar Vučić and his family. Tanjug carried the story, citing the Serbian Interior Ministry and Kraljevo police. According to the Interior Ministry, the men's ages were 51 and 43, with only their initials released. And it writes that "they are suspected of having organised, between December 2025 and February 2026, a violent change in the constitutional order of Serbia and the overthrow of the highest state bodies, preparing the acquisition of weapons and an attempt on the life and limb of the President of the Republic of Serbia, his wife and children, in order to deprive them of their lives, as well as an attack on members of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic."
