Berlin rejects Macron's Eurobond proposal: media

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, FEB 10 - A German government official close to Chancellor Merz told Politico that Germany opposes French President Macron's proposal for a common European debt, arguing that it "distracts from the main topic, namely the European productivity issue," which will be discussed at Thursday's summit. "It's true that we need more investment," the official said. "But, to be honest, this is part of the Multiannual Financial Framework and thus not the Eurobond proposal." (ANSA).
