Hungary not obliged to support Ukraine EU integration: Orban

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, OCT 7 - Hungary is not obligated to support Ukraine's EU membership, and Kiev will not blackmail Budapest into changing its position, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated on X. "Dear Mr. President," Orbán wrote in his post, "with all due respect, Hungary has no moral obligation to support Ukraine's entry into the EU." "No country has ever attempted to enter the European Union through blackmail, and that will not happen this time either. The Treaty on European Union leaves no room for ambiguity: member states decide on accession unanimously. The Hungarians have made their decision." (ANSA).
