Greece and Libya to hold talks to establish maritime zones

(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEP 18 - Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and Libyan Government of National Accord Foreign Minister Taher Salem Al Baour agreed yesterday in Athens to begin talks on demarcating Greece and Libya's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), according to Ana-mpa news agency. Lana Zochiou, spokeswoman for the Greek Foreign Ministry, emphasised that "in this context, the first meeting of the technical committees was held, and it was agreed that the next meeting will be held in Tripoli, Libya." Salem Al Baour's visit to Athens yesterday came after Gerapetritis' visit to Libya on July 15, during which they agreed to strengthen bilateral ties. (ANSA).
