Piantedosi met Polish minister, common ideas on migrants

(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 3 - Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, together with Undersecretary Nicola Molteni and Police Chief Vittorio Pisani, met today at the Viminale with Poland's Interior Minister Tomasz Siemoniak. "In the six-month Polish presidency of the EU, which has just ended, many steps forward have been taken on important dossiers, especially in the area of migration. The recent European Council conclusions clearly outlined priorities and laid the groundwork for continued work on an innovative approach to migration," Piantedosi said. "At the bilateral level, during all our meetings, a commonality of views on migration issues has always emerged. Therefore we will continue to work together to counter illegal flows and human traffickers." Piantedosi continued. According to the Viminale note, the fruitful talks also provided an opportunity to discuss the European agenda, ahead of the Danish presidency, and the willingness to continue close cooperation to foster the development of innovative solutions on European tables.
