
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 16 - Serbia's enthusiasm for possible EU membership remains low. According to a May poll conducted by Lydington Research and the Institute of European Studies, only about 40% of people support the country's entry into the EU, while more than half oppose it. At the same time, 73% of those polled said they were opposed to joining NATO, confirming Serbia's long-held position on the issue. A negative attitude towards the Atlantic Alliance, primarily motivated by NATO's bombing of Serbia in the spring of 1999, which brought the Kosovo war to an end. (ANSA).
