Serbia-Kosovo: EU, chief negotiators to meet next week

(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, 28 MAR - "A meeting will take place next week in Brussels between the chief negotiators" of Serbia and Kosovo "invited by the European mediator to move forward on what was agreed in Ohrid and to start taking the first steps in the implementation" of the deal on normalization of relations between the two countries. The meeting was announced by Peter Stano, spokesman for the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell. The head of the European diplomacy reported on the negotiations held as part of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue to EU "foreign ministers" and "European leaders" at last week's summit, Stano explained. Borrell underlined the need for Kosovo and Serbia to "proceed with a swift implementation and in good faith of the obligations undertaken." "We have started our institutional work to operationalize the first steps, such as the amendment of the Common Position in relation to Chapter 35" of Serbia's EU accession negotiations and "the related steps" that Kosovo is expected to take, he added.
