
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, SEP 8 - Ukraine denounced Russia's "filtration" scheme at a UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday, according to Deputy Ukrainian Ambassador to the UN Khrystyna Hayovyshyn, who said Ukrainians forced to travel to Russia or Russian-controlled territory are being killed and tortured. According to Hayovyshyn, thousands of Ukrainian citizens are being forcibly deported to "isolated and depressed regions of Siberia and the far east." According to the Ambassador, 2.5 million people, including 38,000 children, have been deported. (ANSA).
