The CEI-Executive Secretariat has recently participated in the Annual event hosted by the DG-ECHO on the state-of-play of Disaster Resiliance Societies research and innovation which took place in Brussels from 4-7 December 2023.
The event showcased several projects dealing with the harmonisation and pre-standardisation of equipment, training and tactical coordinated procedures for safe and prompt interventions in case of natural disasters.
CEI participated in a Panel on Interoperability and full-scale exercises and presented the work conducted as lead-partner for the North Adriatic Maritime Intervention Response Group (NAMIRG) and for the North Adriatic Maritime Response System (NAMIRS). The presentation highlighted the coordinated effort to create standard operating procedures for intervention at sea in case of fire or oil spills for the three countries facing the North Adriatic basin, namely Italy, Slovenia and Croatia.
The event was also an opportunity for first responders to look at innovative technologies for safety and security in existing networks.
